Show Notes

The Chinese flu, along with the protests and riots have initiated a new dynamic into our mission and goals. We see the infiltration of more political agendas into public school curriculums. Now, with fall school plans emerging, parents are waking up.

School districts, which are bound by law to remain politically neutral, have gone as far as teaching radical theories to students, and recommending teachers and families vote Democrat and contribute financially to progressive groups including Black Lives Matter, and Democrat candidates. Not only is this offensive to many, it is illegal.

We have reason to believe the Oregon Education Association is putting pressure on school boards and administrators to implement this agenda. It is no secret the union contributes financially to Democrat political campaigns. They have vested interest in riling up teachers, students, and parents to back progressive issues and the Critical Race Theory now tops the list.

Sunday, I watched n interview with mark Levin and Ben Shapiro, two highly intelligent political intellectuals. Shapiro’s new book, out today, How to Destroy America in Three Easy Steps, was the focus of the interview. Shapiro make the case politics, or elections are not enough to restore our nation. We are losing the battle for he heart and sole of America on three other fronts: Philosophy, Culture, and History. This got my attention because I know the great influence K-12 public school has in preparing young people for future leadership in business and civic life. And… the way Philosophy, Culture, and History are taught, has specific influence on future generations.

A growing number of Americans want to tear down what it’s taken us 250 years to build—and they’ll start by canceling our shared history, ideals, and culture.

Traditional areas of civic agreement are vanishing. We can’t agree on what makes America special. We can’t even agree that America is special. We’re coming to the point that we can’t even agree what the word America itself means. “Dis-integrationists” say we’re stronger together, but their assault on America’s history, philosophy, and culture will only tear us apart.

Who are the dis-integrationists? From Howard Zinn’s A People’s History of the United States to the New York Times’ 1619 project, many modern analyses view American history through the lens of competing oppressions, a racist and corrupt experiment from the very beginning. They see American philosophy as a lie – beautiful words pasted over a thoroughly rotted system. They see America’s culture of rights as a façade that merely reinforces traditional hierarchies of power, instead of being the only culture that guarantees freedom for individuals.

Dis-integrationist attacks on the values that built our nation are insidious because they replace each foundational belief, from the rights to free speech and self-defense to the importance of marriage and faith communities, with nothing more than an increased reliance on the government.

This twisted dis-integrationist vision replaces the traditional “unionist” understanding that all Americans are united in a shared striving toward the perfection of universal ideals.

How to Destroy America in Three Easy Steps shows that to be a cohesive nation we have to uphold foundational truths about ourselves, our history, and reality itself—to be unionists instead of dis-integrationists. Shapiro offers a vital warning that if we don’t recover these shared truths, our future—our union—as a great country is threatened with destruction.

Why do I bring this up? It’s just another book about American ideals.
