In 2018, after stepping into my post as Executive Director of Parents’ Rights in Education, one of the first inquiries came from an Iowa mom. She was invited to the H. S. Counselor's office, greeted by the counselor and daughter, on her 18th birthday. She handed her mother a 24 page letter announcing her decision to undergo permanent, life changing medical treatments and surgeries for sex change. This has became an ongoing issue ever since.
