Your review helps us get out our message and allows us to keep advocating for parents rights. Thanks so much for being here. Let's get into today's topic.

Suzanne Gallagher:

Okay, we're back. Let's start right with the news. Okay, guys, how about Washington State. Okay, this is gigantic. Initiative. 2081 is a huge win for parents rights. Now, initiative 2081 Wasn't initiative to the legislature. It is a parent's Bill of Rights and it will soon become law. And the reason is that it was passed by the State Senate and the House of Representatives. But because it was an initiative to the legislature, no Governor signature is required. Now, this initiative grants parents of public school students the right to review classroom materials, including textbooks and curriculum, and easily access their child's academic and medical records. Now, we know that this is already in, you know, federal law, but but they are cementing that into the state of Washington, and I love it and we don't even need the signature from the governor. Now parents can also opt their children out of assignments related to the student's sexual experiences, or the family's religious or political beliefs. Kudos to Washington. So if you live in Washington, take note. Next, W path files now we've been hearing about W path W path is the World Professional Association of transgender help W path. These files were leaked, and they reveal widespread medical malpractice on children and vulnerable adults. W path is considered the leading global scientific and medical authority on gender medicine, and in recent decades, its standards of care have shaped the guidance, policies and practices of governments, medical associations, public health systems, and private clinics around the world. These files reveal that the organization does not meet the standards of evidence based medicine, and members frequently discuss improvising treatments as they go along. Members are fully aware that children and adolescents do not comprehend the lifelong consequences of gender affirming care, and in some cases, due to poor health literacy. Neither can their parents, I would say that's pretty often. These files also show how far medical experiments in gender medicine have gone with discussions about surgeons performing nullification and other extreme body modification procedures to create body types that do not exist in nature. A growing number of medical and psychiatric professionals say the promotion of pseudo scientific surgical and hormonal experiments is a global medical scandal that compares two major incidents of medical malpractice in history such as lobotomies and overreact dummies. Now, this is my take, as we know from case reports, the go to statement to parents from the so called healthcare providers is Do you want a dead son or Alive daughter? Tragically, victims of medical transitions are becoming suicidal after they discover their gender dysphoria is still present. Following surgical and chemical treatment. I am saddened that it has taken so many experimental cycle medical treatment victims to hopefully put a stop to the insanity. Next up, an Oregon Superintendent of course, Oregon, is suspected of working with activist organizations to research parents who opposed a transgender school policy. How do we know? Well a zoom clip of a meeting held by a national coalition of progressive education social justice activists, known as don't forget this name partnership for the future of learning has surfaced. In the meeting in Oregon superintendent was praised for doing background research on parents who opposed a transgender school policy. The superintendent went to school board members to persuade them to disregard those parents input or as the activist stated on the Zoom call, quote, to influence school board members to do the right thing and quote, and protect the transgender policy. Watch out partnership for the future of learning. And last but certainly not least, America first legal filed a lawsuit against Fairfax County School Board on behalf of a female student of Fairfax County Public Schools for allowing teenage boys to use the female restrooms and for forcing a radical government sponsored gender indoctrination and approved speech scheme. CPS regulation 2603 requires all students to refer to students who identify as gender expansive, or transgender by their chosen name and pronoun, regardless of the name and gender recorded in the students permanent pupil record. In practice, this rule requires students to adhere to a woke agenda that denies reality. And even more disturbingly, the rule allows students to use the restroom and locker room quote consistent with the students gender identity unquote. In other words, it forces female students to share the restroom with biological males. Bottom line, okay, if CPS and all schools across America have prioritized radical gender indoctrination and government compelled speech, inside and outside the classroom, all to the detriment of America's future generations. America first legal we love these guys, America first legal will not stand for this egregious indoctrination scheme and is proud to bring FCPS to court. Yeah, to hold the school district accountable. Okay, it's time for an affiliate shout out Morgan Collier. She is the local affiliate leader in Talco, Texas. Morgan joined parents rights in education because she wanted training on how to fight back against the indoctrination and grooming happening in K through 12 schools. She also wanted to become an affiliate to recruit others to join the fight with us. Perfect. Thank you, Morgan. That is exactly what you guys need to be doing. Thank you for protecting students by standing up for parents rights. Hey,

Suzanne Gallagher:

here's our topic for today. K through 12. education matters, don't give up and never give in. In my travels last week, I had an opportunity to speak with a wide variety of people. When I talk with them about parents rights and education, whether they are parents or not all these individuals should be concerned about public education. Every single taxpayer has a stake in the future of this country and the public school system. A function of civil government is for the most part responsible for educating future citizens who upon becoming 18 years of age vote. It used to be commonly accepted that one of the primary responsibilities of a public school was to educate students about the history of our country, and the importance of engaging in civil government having pride in our nation and a responsibility to uphold the Constitution and our shared values. In fact, most statues uphold these minimum requirements to teach students about US history and instill pride in our nation. The public school system is our responsibility, whether we are parents or not. Why? Well, because young people graduating from high school every single spring will have the opportunity and the privilege to vote in upcoming elections. They have influence on public policy in If our public schools are teaching them to hate their own government, this is not going to work out very well for us, is it? The money and power behind the leftist takeover of our schools is impressive. That doesn't make it right or valid. It just is. We know there is a political agenda in place for to indoctrinate our students to embrace Marxist ideology, scrap the US Constitution and dump capitalism, the foundation of our free market economy. Their ultimate goal is globalism, or one world government. Now we know the left is activating our kids right under our noses in our public schools and using our tax dollars to do it. As a leader in this highly important issue, I am keenly aware of the dynamics at play when it comes to our followers, our supporters and our activists. Every single adult has an opportunity and a role in this fight. No matter what your position in life is. There is something you can do. As I listened to the recent State of the Union speech, I cringed when the President talked about raising teacher salaries and expanding the role of public education. The left is keenly aware of the importance of public education and achieving their political goals. They have an agenda, we have to counter their strategy and return local control to K through 12. Education, giving back parents rights to direct the education of their children. And I hear the excuses for not getting involved in this issue. A common one today is well fight for choice in education. Well, me too unfair choice. The jury is still out, though, when it comes to choice legislation. And if we pass all the choice initiatives tomorrow, there will not be enough school alternatives to meet the demand and 80% of foul enemies will find it easier to keep their kids in the local public school. And be careful about how that choice is implemented. If government funding is tied to it, control will follow. Sorry, the choice excuse doesn't cut it because we still have to stop the deterioration of our public school system. It has been hijacked by the far left. And we have to initiate change with in the system now, beginning at the local level. And that means winning school board elections, overturning bad legislation at the state level and returning to the role of educating students not indoctrinating them. Now, that's not an impossible fix. It can't be done by engaging folks at the local level. People just like you and me, guys. Here's another excuse. Oh, well, we don't have any kids in public school now. Okay, so you do still pay taxes that support the public schools? Do you care what values your tax dollars are being used to promote? Every citizen and taxpayer has the right to be involved in the local school? And another excuse? I don't have children. I say no problem. Tell me what you do for a living. If you produce or sell a product, you need people to help you do that. Where are you going to get them? Schools today are not requiring that students be proficient in math, reading or writing. This is not helpful to our nation, or our economy in general. In fact, a weak education system is a precursor to a failed economy. It doesn't take a road scholar to recognize an uneducated workforce weakens the US effectiveness, both nationally and globally. So how about these excuses? Oh, I'm just so busy. Oh, I'm so busy. Or I'm involved in my local party. Oh, then there's this one. Oh, I'm working on election integrity. Well, my answer to all these excuses is, well, good. That's good. That's great, then this will fit really well into your current activities. Now, there is something about K through 12 Education fight that most don't know. Folks are engaging in the process and often voting for the first time. We are igniting a constituency of folks who have never been involved in advocacy work, or even voted. Parents have a unique sense of protection for their children. It's the unequivocal notion that no one gets between me and my kid. Now both moms and dads know this and will step up to defend that right. And when I speak, parents rise to ask a question and in the same breath, often disavow their allegiance to the Democrat Party. They are discovering that their loss of rights is directly related to far left political policies. We have followers. These are folks who keep up on current issues. They listen to our podcast and help by sharing it with their sphere of influence, social media, text and email. They respond to calls to action, and encourage others to do the same. We have supporters, these are people who send us financial support, monthly or one time donations, these donations are critical, we can't continue our work without them. We have the 12 by 12 Club, which is not a new concept. Many small donations are far more powerful than a few large ones. Again, everyone can do something. We have activists, oh, our activists take an active role in speaking up and taking a stand for the cause. They are parents and allies and even school teachers who know and understand that keeping silent won't work. Through our program, trains speak and change. We are equipping leaders to voice their opinions. Our message is gaining momentum. Stop messing with our kids. By speaking up, we're inspiring others to do the same. Our activists are becoming leaders not only at the school board level, they are gaining a following and taking higher leadership positions in their local communities. Join parents rights and education, we are committed to this fight, we have a winning formula. Don't give up and never give in. quitters never win. And winners never quit. Stick with me, we've got a great guest coming on. His name is Ted Lim, and he is a full time teacher in Virginia. You're gonna love this guy. Do you love

Suzanne Gallagher:

So our affiliate guest today is Ted lamb. And Ted resides in Portsmouth, Virginia. And he is such a great guy, I'm so excited that he's been able to put this together so he could be on with us. Ted is a full time teacher. He's been teaching more than 27 years. And you're just gonna love him. So thanks for coming on, Ted.

Ted Lamb:

Well, thank you for having me. Absolutely. Hopefully, I can live up to that standard. I mean.

Suzanne Gallagher:

Well, I know I know, our followers gonna love you. Now. I've heard that you particularly like the color yellow. So how does that fit into your schedule? Yeah. So

Ted Lamb:

myself and a lot of us. So I'm, I'm, I'm a conservative teacher, which is a rarity. As you can probably imagine, and I know the audience out there on the West Coast is like why there's such a thing, a kind of a thing? Yes, we're kind of scattered far and beyond. So I belong to the conservative teachers of America. And it's social media, and I'm an admin on there. And so I have to say that I really took an interest of what was going on nationally, and therefore a bit even before the whole COVID issue shut down. I was really concerned wanting to figure out a way of how could we encourage one another, to just let each other know that, you know, some of us lives in our lives and works in very interesting locations across the nation, and that they needed to feel supported, but do it in a way that, you know, they're not going to be targeted, they're not going to be ratted out kind of an issue. So, I came up with the idea of wearing yellow on Thursdays. Myself and another school board member, we came up with that, you know, or color because we didn't want to do red because that's too much associated with Republican. Yeah, blue. We didn't want to do pink because I am yeah. We didn't want to do rainbow, you know, because that kind of gotten hijacked as well. So my friend said, What about yellow, you know, and we're like, yeah, that sounds like a Very neutral color. So I proposed it on social media page, and it's taken off ever since we've probably probably been doing about three, four years now.

Suzanne Gallagher:

Awesome. So people can find you on Facebook. Yes. Under the title, they just type in yellow.

Ted Lamb:

I can I mean, I can be found on. Like,

Suzanne Gallagher:

how do they find you on this yellow page? Oh,

Ted Lamb:

so if you like, so if you do conservative teachers of America,

Suzanne Gallagher:

okay, conservative teachers of America. And,

Ted Lamb:

and again, the yellow. And it's been interesting because it's not just for teachers, we actually have homeschooler families that now wears yellow. We have different organizations like I know some from a parent's rights and other organizations that wears yellow, as well, on Thursdays. Okay,

Suzanne Gallagher:

awesome. Fantastic. I think you're gonna see your numbers bump up after this. Okay, next. Now, that just didn't satisfy you quite enough, though, did a TED I mean, that was just the first step. So tell me about this other page that you're calling history moments with Ted, I know you love history, and you teach it right?

Ted Lamb:

I teach history. This this semester, I've got a respite. I mean, I'm teaching something that I think is probably just as important, and I'm growing to love even more, and that's economics and personal finance. Kids, and people don't know much about money. I mean, we think we do, but we don't. And, and to be honest with you, I mean, if we were really, really honest, including history, there's probably a few classes that you actually took in high school that you actually use every day, for example, for me, it was typing. I mean, you know, you type. And so this is one of these classes to that every day, even if you don't think about it, economics plays a role in everything that we practically do, and how we think, decisions made and so forth. So that's what I'm doing there. But as far as history moments with Ted history as my first love, I can eat, sleep, drink, all history, all the time. And so on history of moments with Ted, it's a Facebook group, which is growing, we focus on primary sources, because I believe that primary sources needs to be taught more than secondary textbooks, that's written by some kind of committee or some international corporation, that then turns around and really kind of being nice. slants the the information of history, it's it's really not even factual. It's someone's interpretation of facts. On history mounts, we focus a lot on primary sources. And I also do a couple of things on there, we just finished what I call black Patriot month, which looked at a bunch of individuals that people don't even know or remember, and the stories aren't told, because it doesn't fit in the dialogue of what we want to learn today. Oh, and I will let everyone know that's on here firsthand, that starting in May, May 14, we're actually going to start the federal convention of 1787 series, which is run from May 14, through September 17. And it's using James Madison's notes on the federal convention, what they did each and every day, and we're going to learn the Constitution through those notes. So love

Suzanne Gallagher:

it that you've got your hands full. Wow. So that's probably going to run through the summer. Fantastic. So that's your second Facebook page. And then of course, you also have parents rights and education Virginia, and we want everybody to join that to him become become involved sign up for free membership on our website. So I don't want to have our time get away from us Ted, because you also contacted me last week about something that's going on politically in the state of Virginia pertaining to school boards Tell me about that. Oh,

Ted Lamb:

well, since we've talked I mean, we talked about one thing there was a hot many things that's that's going on but um and in this is probably not anything different from a large parts across the nation. But what you're now seeing is in Virginia, we had another election cycle we elect I guess we just love electing things because we have an election every year and a hindrance. Shinya and so there's been a turnover on multiple school boards, where they've turned conservative. And so these conservative school board members have turned around and they ran on strong parents rights platforms. And they ran on platforms of really coming back to obeying the law, or the constitution of Virginia, come to find out, there's a lot of things that people just take for granted. That's just not necessarily law, or accurate, or you just don't need to do because of that some of the school boards now, including superintendents, are now trying to fight back because it's like, they're, how can I say that? It's almost like their fiefdom, like in the Dark Ages, the Middle Ages, they're, their little Manor is under attack. And so right,

Suzanne Gallagher:

so they think their way is the highway, their

Ted Lamb:

ways, the highway, their way is the Bible, their way is just absolute monarchy. Because the problem is, you know, public education has gotten away with this for probably a good 125 years, if we were being honest, of just questioning anything. And therefore, you know, we always hear it every spring doesn't matter in any state, you know, education doesn't have enough money, if we were only fully funded, whatever that means. But if we were only fully funded, then everything would be okay. And that's not the case. Nor do these school boards like to be challenged. And that's what's happening.

Suzanne Gallagher:

So there's that, how are the super what are the superintendent's doing?

Ted Lamb:

Well, it's kind of like, um, so their question like, like, they get, they get really upset. And they'll start saying, Oh, you're creating hostile work environments? Or, or, you know, kind of like, well, why do you not like me? You know, it's almost like third grade playground. Get out of my sandbox kind of thing. Well,

Suzanne Gallagher:

I thought you told me about in one situation where the the, the head of the school board, the new, the new presiding chairman of the school board, or president of the school board, is being sued by the superintendent. Yeah,

Ted Lamb:

so and that's been interesting, too. So when we had talked at that point, there was a lot of this going around with regards to that. But as of right now, I'm not necessarily aware of any kind of paperwork or legal thing that has now went to that level. And again, it's, but it's another one of these tit for tat, if you will, you know, a lot of words and actions and

Suzanne Gallagher:

so, so good. So help me out here. So it sounds like this superintendents think that they are in charge of the school board, and they tell the school board what to do. But in the state of Virginia, what does the law say about who hires who does the superintendent hire the school board? Oh, wait a minute, I thought they were elected. And then the school board hires the superintendent. Oh,

Ted Lamb:

boy, I love the sarcasm and enthusiasm in that because, you know, one thing that your listeners don't know about me, or maybe some do, I'm also a formal to term school board member. So it's alright. That's all right. Depending on the day and time, sometimes I try to forget that too. But I was proud to serve, and I'm glad I did. But in you know, in Virginia, the law is very, very clear. And that is the superintendent is in charge of the day to day operations. And he's in charge of his, the personnel, you know, he, he has a lot of leeway of hiring, you know, assistant superintendents of curriculum or this or that. But ultimately, the school board is the sole responsibility of the whole district or divisions. But politics as it is, school boards loves to hide behind the superintendent. So if something goes wrong, well guess who gets in trouble or guess who gets let out the door? That would be the superintendent. And oh, by the way, the dirty little trick to that is if you look at their contracts, they're walking out Don't Don't cry for them because they're walking out with possibly a year or two of salary and benefits. And I mean, it's just

Suzanne Gallagher:

Ah, they're still making money doing nothing. Absolutely.

Ted Lamb:

But what's happened in Virginia and probably across the US to, you know, these superintendents have been so empowered. And we're the school board chairs, you know, has this attitude of, we're a team, you know, and they usually sit up there at the DIA's with the school board. So the general public may even think, Oh, well, they're equals, and they're not. You said it best Suzanne, they are the superintendent is the hired employee of the school board. The school board is has the ultimate of responsibility and authority over the school division.

Suzanne Gallagher:

Okay. Now, we're almost out of time. And I want to make sure that anyone listening who who likes Ted likes hearing what their likes, like what they're hearing from Ted. And you've thought about maybe getting a little bit more involved in this issue, because we need you we need you desperately, we need more people to to raise their hand and say, I'll be an affiliate contact, I'll be that person in my school district, who is going to join with Ted in the state of Virginia, or any other state, by the way, and, and stand up for parents rights? Because our school boards need a lot of support, wouldn't you say they need to be backing up those school board members for standing up for parents rights. Now we've got a big call we're putting on on the 21st of this month. That's a Thursday evening. It's a national call. And we need as many people as possible to be on that call. And we need affiliates. So go to our website and sign up to be for free membership and then inquire about either joining a current affiliate or becoming one yourself. We need more great people like Ted lamb, he's stuck his neck neck out. He's a full time teacher. He wears yellow to school every Thursday. He's managing these websites. He's He loves us history, and he teaches it from the original documents. I love that. Thank you so much, Ted. Yep. Thank you. Awesome. Appreciate you.
